PREVICOX - Pain Relief for Your Dog

Designed to alleviate the pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis in dogs, PREVICOX (firocoxib) provides highly effective relief. Owners are likely to notice improvement in their dogs’ OA signs. In a study, 96% of owners saw improvement in their dogs after using PREVICOX for 30 days, and 60% of pet owners reported their dogs as greatly improved.

PREVICOX is a type of veterinary-prescribed pain reliever called an NSAID (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug) that your veterinarian may prescribe for your dog to help treat the pain and inflammation associated with Osteoarthritis. PREVICOX is designed just for dogs and acts fast to help relieve pain and inflammation associated with canine Osteoarthritis, which may help your dog get around more easily. Talk to your veterinarian about including PREVICOX as part of your dog’s Osteoarthritis treatment plan, and help get him on his way to getting back to himself. Learn about Osteoarthritis

As a class, cyclooxygenase inhibitory NSAIDs may be associated with gastrointestinal, kidney or liver side effects. These are usually mild, but may be serious. Pet owners should discontinue therapy and contact their veterinarian immediately if side effects occur. Evaluation for pre-existing conditions and regular monitoring are recommended for pets on any medication, including PREVICOX. Use with other NSAIDs, corticosteroids or nephrotoxic medication should be avoided. Refer to the prescribing information for complete details.

How PREVICOX (firocoxib) Works

PREVICOX starts working against the pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in your dog within hours of the first dose3. It works to control pain and inflammation at the source – by inhibiting an enzyme called COX-2 (cyclooxygenase-2) that helps produce substances that are primarily responsible for inflammation and pain.

How to use PREVICOX (firocoxib)

PREVICOX is convenient and easy to administer. It comes in a BBQ-flavored chewable tablet that dogs like and can be given with or without food. PREVICOX is available in two sizes. Your veterinarian will prescribe the correct dosage based on your dog’s weight. Make sure to always follow your veterinarian’s recommendation precisely.

Results With PREVICOX (firocoxib)

While PREVICOX is not a cure for osteoarthritis in dogs, it can control the pain and inflammation associated with the disease, which may help improve your dog’s mobility4,5 and help bring him back to the best friend you know and love.
While response can vary from dog to dog, improvement can be seen within days in most dogs.
It’s important to periodically discuss your dog’s response to PREVICOX tablets and keep giving PREVICOX as directed by your veterinarian, even when you start to notice signs of improvement in your dog. Your veterinarian will determine if your dog is responding as expected, and if your dog should continue receiving PREVICOX tablets to control his or her pain.
